Random thought. Who would take Alex Song after his loan spell with West Ham is over? Personally, I would. He has been excellent for the Hammers this year and has always been a solid player. IMO he is a better defensive midfielder than Allen. Anyway... your thoughts please. :)

Reignman34

{Ed044's Note - not convinced.}

1.) No? Why not out of curiosity?

{Ed042's Note - Ben will answer when be has time. Although even I wouldn't want him. The guys lacking in positional sense Often you'll se he is strolling around the opposite team's penalty box when a counter is on. You want your dm to sniff out danger. He just does not do that. He would be 3rd or 4th choice for me at best

2.) Fair enough

3.) Still better option than Joe Allen, though that's not difficult by any stretch of the imagination.

Please explain to me something LFC fans. When the team loses there is always something or someone to blame. Otherwise they would have won right? I personally do not want rodgers to go. Obviously, this is two games in a row where the formations were not the best for that particular game and two more experienced managers out-managed him, but he is a young guy. The issue is if he does not learn from these mistakes. The loss of Suarez was tough. The loss of Sturridge at the beginning of the season was tough as well. We have had too much drama this year with Balotteli, Gerrard leaving, and now this damn Sterling nonsense. I know LFC were once a great club but that day is gone. Lets keep a good manager and let him learn, lets have faith and give faith in our players, and love LFC whether they lose or not. Is that so hard? Or is pleasure derived in berating people with far more talent and experience than we do for their choices? I dont know, I guess Im just feeling the love today since its Easter. Jesus forgave. Maybe we should too. Happy Easter everyone!

Reignman34

{Ed042's Note - happy Easter mate

1.) This defeat isn't in isolation.

Newcastle, villa, palace, the two against United, the defeat against West Ham, the defeat against Chelsea...I could go on.

Rodgers is a mid table manager with limited ideas. He is not the man to take the club forward. This is a man who thinks Joe Allen is comparable to
Xavi, so is prone to bouts of dellusion.

If he stays another year, that's another season like this and a summer of underwhelming signings(Milner, Walcott, Ings and Ryan...marvellous).

I said it once, i'll say it again. How good was Emre Can last night? He should get the start in midfield and start Lovren at the back. We all love Stevie, but we were better when he came off. Can's composure on the ball for such a young player is remarkable. Here is to the reds being on the up and up!

Reignman34

1.) Where are all the people who criticised our summer business? According to them Can, Marko, Moreno etc were a waste of money. With everyone fit we're a better side than last year and playing better, more solid football

2.) I'll admit it took them a while to get off the mark, but ya the summer signings are definitely coming along. My other favorite beside Can is Moreno. The kid, with more experience, is going to be a fantastic left back. He is still a young player and will hopefully continue to improve. I think my least favorite summer signing is Lallana. He needs to put on some weight and as he seems to be pushed off the ball far too easy. Thoughts anyone?

3.) I really like Lallana. He is a very intelligent player, my concern is the amount of knocks he takes and misses games because for, or when supposedly fit he seems to always get subbed at the 70 min mark. This was the same at Southampton is there an underlying fitness issue? I agree with Ed 1 when he says that Lallana covers an awful lot of ground during his time on the pitch. And this maybe why he gets subbed due to fatigue? But Henderson runs and runs and stays on.
Does anyone know anything re the 70 min thing?

{Ed001's Note - last season Lallana was covering more ground in that 70min than anyone in our team managed, so he was brought off to protect him from injury. He works hard and pushes himself to the limit, he doesn't hold anything back like some. You either have to limit his time on the pitch or he will end up picking up knocks through fatigue.}

4.) Thats a fair point Ed. And i need to retract my previous statement. My least favorite signing is Balo. He scored, showed no emotion. I dont really know what is going through that guys head. I mean, does he want to be here? Does anyone think he will be here next season? Personally, I dont think so. That is, unless Rodgers turns in to Robin Williams from Good Will Hunting and pulls off a miraculous psychological change in the guy. LOL

{Ed001's Note - he has never shown emotion really. I do think he is not a good signing, but not because of that.}

5.) Why dont you out of curiosity?

{Ed044's Note - Ed01 is not about, but I'm sure he'll come back to you shortly...}

6.) Well bummer. I probably know what he is going to say, but I wanted to read nonetheless.

What is the deal with Sterling and his contract? Is he really refusing to sign? Is this his agent trying to get the most he can, or is there talk of one of the biggest European teams coming in for him thats turning his head?

With Lucas out, who should fill his role as defensive mid?

Reignman34

1.) Can for me mate, he is loads better moving the ball forward than Allen.
Play Lovren at the back, with Lazar as wing back.
But you know the reality will be Allen and johno at wing back urghhhhh..

{Ed042's Note - Agree with you there

2.) You are probably right about Allen and Johnson, unfortunately, but there is still hope. Plus, no Sterling tonight.

3.) No sterling?
Why's that?

{Ed044's Note - foot injury. Not recovered in time.}

4.) Anyone else cringe when they saw Stevie is playing centre mid?!

{Ed044's Note - Hmm. This has prompted me to make a prediction for tonight:
Nail biting.😊}

5.) Great prediction Ben 😃😃😃

Is it the lack of sunshine that has you all so down on Rodgers all of the time? Yes, he made mistakes this year but we still got into Europe. He lost 50 plus goals for an entire year. No team could recover from that. If by Christmas of next season he is pulling LFC down the road the mediocrity, then I will join your Rodgers out bandwagon.

Reignman34

{Ed044's Note - it's a lack of learning for me Reignman. He has made mistakes, but crucially, he continues to make the same ones again and again}

So lets say we get Klopp and next season we end up in 5th again. What then? Sack him too? Firing managers so quickly is not the answer. This is a horrible trend in english football
