Anyone seen the palace goal that was disallowed? Never seen the rule enforced and yes it’s a rule so technically shouldn’t count but they now need to stick to that throughout the season.
However that was a rule made in 2019, so thought I’d go and look at last seasons direct free kicks and there are numerous examples where an attacker is less then a 1m from the wall (at least three players from defending team) . There is so much wrong with VAR/ officials but don’t think this rule has ever been on anyone’s radar a s9,etching to improve.
If they keep up with it throughout the season then there can be no complaints, but it’ll be typical VAR where it’ll be forgotten by GW5.
Personally, the sooner VAR goes to a review type process the better.

Just had it pointed out that if you stick VVDs and Salahs numbers together you get today's date. They couldn't announce both on the same day, could they? It'd break the internet ?.

Pep may end up regretting those words, football has a funny way of biting you. i'd love it if we beat them, Rafas fact speech and hopefully 'everyone supports liverpool' and his jibe about the league get added to the list.
And spoiler alert pep, the only people that support liverpool are liverpool. We are definitely not the neutrals club!

Bielsa in the premier league. Living in leeds I'm chuffed for them but if our game at Elland road is with fans I would love to get my hands on an away ticket. But away tickets are like gold dust! An away day is one I'll struggle to tick off the bucket list I think.

Porto have sent the warning signs that neutral venues may be needed after turning up for an away game.
I would want as many as possible to be at home grounds but i would rather they’d air on the side of caution for what the police deem as high risk.

I think we may see an increase in players forcing a move after yesterday. Yes it has happened in the past but Guehi did everything right. Was the model professional, didn’t say a peep and just got on with it only to see it all blow up in his face.
Palace haven’t handled this very well either, not because they should have fallen in line or any rubbish along those lines. But they knew the players wishes and knew he wanted the move. They knew he had 12 months left of his contract and would likely walk out the door for for nothing. Yet, they sat on their hands and didn’t get a replacement in. Forcing the manager to give a supposed ultimatum and now leave the player high and dry.
Once managerial options start opening up, I’d expect Glasner to be high on peoples lists. It’ll be very interesting to see if he takes the opportunity or stays loyal to Palace. After all it seems to be him that’s effectively forced Palace into this financial decision.

So to sum up the Isak situation.
Isak = bad for downing tools
Newcastle = good for offering half what Brentford want, not letting their player leave as per a supposed gentlemans agreement and turning a player's head so he downs tools and wants the move. But want Liverpool to pay their full asking price no questions asked and expect Brentford to just accept their low ball offer.
Liverpool = bad, offered a derisory amount according to some of a British record bid but under what Newcastle wanted. However we are willing to negotiate. And in turn the players head has been turned and he has downed tools to push through the move.
I think there is a bit of pot kettle black going on.

So with the way our kit deals play out this year, does that mean we are going to get one of those cheesy old school pictures were all the new signings pose with the manager?
The picture of slot, frimpong, Kerkez, wirtz and possibly a striker (I know I'm greedy) would be the definition of a perfect window.

Apologies to add yet another Trent post but wanted to throw in my two pence worth.
I think Trent made his decision last season or after Klopp went. Klopp seemed hugely influential on him and with him going it must have thrown up more questions than answers. No one expected us to be winning no.20 this season, we all hoped but didn’t think we’d challenge Arsenal or City.
This then left the club with a choice, sell trent and add a layer of uncertainty to the club. imagine the noise if Trent left last summer with Slot coming in. We needed stability and that has proved monumental in how the season has panned out. We then had the option of 20m in Jan, but again I’d switch 20m for the league any day of the week!
I do think the club need to hold a lot of responsibility for him going, especially for free as his contract shouldn’t have been sorted at
Least 18 months ago. I think they were complacent because he was a local lad.
However, more and more of the top players are going to see out their contracts as they know there is a huge payment to be had. That’s completely within their right to do so.
As for Trent, we can all say we would never leave the club but we will never be in that position. Personally I feel the goal from a young age was to win the league with the club, he grew up when we were top 4 at best and winning the PL rather than build a dynasty was probably the aim.
He’s had 20 years at the club and I can’t blame someone for wanting a change. I can’t compare it to Gerard’s situation as if he left us I think we’d probably have been in a relegation battle! Trent leaves us in the best position and hopefully with Bradley who can make the role his.
I, like many, are not Reals biggest fan but I hope he doesn’t live to regret the decision. I hope he gets the farewell his success deserves and leave as a Liverpool great but falls short of being a club legend for me.

The thing is we will never know the full truth about Trent leaving.
Did he make his mind up last summer?
Is it all to do with the captaincy or lack of?
Has the club taken the fact he’s a scouser for granted?
Could klopp have dealt with it before he announced he was leaving?
Has Bradley being back helped trent feel he isn’t leaving us in the deep end?
It’s all guesswork but one thing I think we all agree on is this should have been dealt with last summer when there was still a fee to be had.
My personal opinion is they didn’t want a star leaving with Slot just walking in the door, they wanted some sense of status quo. And it may have helped (hopefully) getting number 20. But I think it may hamper us in the longer term.
I have no qualms him leaving or wanting to try something new. But allowing someone at 26 with at least 3-4 years at the top to leave for nothing is not the wisest business decision in the world.
