I was impressed by Daniel Sturridge's debut as a pundit today. Unfortunately, he's now out for the next six months and I've heard from someone in the know that he'll be with TNT Sports next season, so get your money on that happening now!

I've just been texting a mate of mine and we got on about football. We were moaning about the lack of atmosphere and I mentioned the Gomez injury, as I know he has a soft spot for Liverpool, too.
His reply was "you want to try being Wigan Athletic fan! "
It sort of puts our situation into perspective.

I'm hoping Spurs finish in the top four so they've nothing to play for in Madrid.
And if they do win the European Cup (proper name) they might have to sign a player or two and that won't go down well with their board.
They don't need these distractions along with finding a new manager.

I don't think we should be shouting corruption
after last night's game. It was just sheer incompetence by the officials that cost us.
They were rubbish!
And we had some bad luck and were unlucky not to come away with a point after Matip did a Djimi Traore in the last minute of injury time.

We could learn something from United's recent transfer dealings.
Getting shut of Pogba and Ronaldo and bringing in Eriksen and Weghorst.
It's not all about names and spending big money.

Having three pacy forwards willing to turn the opposition around will help the midfield (and defence) . It will help against teams that will really press us. Gakpo, though not a midfielder, can help the midfield. The same goes for a returning Jota or Diaz.
Souness always says Ian Rush made his job easier because of his movement.
It may not turn us into title winners but it will help with the midfield problems.
If I'm a midfielder really closing down a Liverpool midfielder, I reckon I should also be worried about leaving my defence to think about any three of Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota or Diaz. Add to that TAA being able to pass a ball better than a lot of midfielders and Andy Robertson willing to go past me, too, I might be more concerned with what's behind me and not what is front of me.

All this talk about statues is over the top.
Could we not just change the name of The Main Stand to The Mane Stand?
