So…has Nunez officially left or are we still waiting for confirmation?

I see Al Hilal and Neymar have finally parted ways by mutual consent. Do.

I suppose a Chelsea/ Arsenal draw today is just too much to ask for?

any news on the walking wounded who narrowly missed out on the final? Mo, Dom, Darwin?

I know he hasn’t took a game by the scruff of the neck yet, but is anyone else glued to Wirtz, especially when he’s running forward into space? He’s going to be electric when it clicks, and he’s far too good for it not to.

Also very impressed with getting the result yesterday - great performance by Dom and good to see Macca back and Konate remembering how to defend. Plus a great cameo from Joe G.

Just great times to be a red, especially with Isak and Guehi onboard. Bloody marvellous!

Match of the Day fever post, but what about keeping Dom at fullback and trying Frimpong RW?

Anyone done any research on Guehi playing DM?

I think we all saw what Gravenberch brings to this side at St James’. Yeah, it was a very unorthodox game but he gave us some bite and kept us in shape.

Just wondering if Guehi is a legitimate option for DM if Grav is unavailable?

Assuming Konate rediscovers his form/ confidence, it would give us a solid platform for the forward looking players to do their thing. Think an on form VvD and Konate protected by Grav/ Guehi, or even a back 3 protected by Grav if Slot sees the need…certainly could give us all sorts of defensive options.

So at quarter to 5 yesterday we were looking at a 0-0 away draw and 48 points, with Arsenal having the chance to go to 46 points with a win against Villa. ?

Instead, we’re the 1st team to 50 points with Arsenal back on 44. And we still have the game in hand. Appy daze. ?

Trent had some never say die attitude yesterday. They all did, but him especially, reminded me of Gerrard just refusing to accept the result.

Wouldn’t have minded a few more efforts from distance yesterday. We have players who can force a save from outside the box, we should consciously use that as an asset against stubborn opponents.

And we may now have the plan B blueprint for low block teams with 30 mins to go…Nunez on and get low crosses in around the 6yd box.

On reflection that had banana skin written all over it yesterday.
I’ve played in similar games where you’re so superior and in control that you create your own mistakes. Take a touch more than you need, hold on to the ball too long, multiple players close down the same player etc.
It’s like trying too hard and not letting the process take over.
Considering the blustery conditions it was a get the 3 points and get out of town day - which is exactly what we did.
I’m tempted to over analyse Nunez contribution and the fullbacks, also why Diaz never came on at CF but it was a frustrating day that’s been dealt with.
Well done Slot for staying calm because I was getting a little agitated me self.
