Watching klopp’s post match interview yesterday was the first time the thought of a new manager actually felt right. Klopp looked mentally shattered. I absolutely idolise the man but I think now is probably the right time for fresh ideas.

Few thoughts on the game yesterday:

1. Nunez is such a threat when we play to his strengths, not having him drop deep with his back to goal, keep him on the shoulder of the last defender, Szoboszlai and Macallister threading him balls in behind from midfield and he’ll score 20+ this season.

2. Trent could have easily been sent off but let’s face it, he shouldn’t have had the first yellow card because how the referee missed the clear shove in the back is beyond me, yet more incompetence. That being said, Trent’s foul on Gordon was so stupid, could have easily walked.

3. In the last 2 games, we’ve played so much better after going down to 10 men and changing the formation/ tactics, surely that should be a wake up call to Klopp and the coaching staff!

4. Alisson is the best goalkeeper I’ve ever seen play for Liverpool! That save from almiron was absolutely ridiculous.

5. The last couple of days just amplifies how much we need another CB! Konate injured and now VVD banned so we’re down to Matip and Gomez and Quansah as back up. And before anyone starts, I’m not saying we need to sign a CB because VVD is suspended for one game, the lack of Quality and experience in our CB options is concerning.

Just heard Gary Neville describe using Trent as an inverted full back as a “band aid solution” but when Pep and Arteta do it it’s genius tactics ?. Not to mention Trent is playing his best football in 18 months, getting 6 assists this month and the team is playing better than they’ve played all season!

So Chelsea have met Enzo Fernandez’s release clause of €120m and are reportedly still interested in signing caicedo before the window shuts which would put their spending in the last 6 months over £600m! What is the point of FFP?

We’re constantly being told FFP is there to protect the integrity of the sport so the smaller teams don’t get left behind so how can a team spend in 6 months the amount of money a smaller team would spend in 20 years?!

And I don’t want to be told I don’t understand what I’m talking about or I don’t understand the finances because that’s not the point! No team should be able to spend that and if they are able to spend that amount, we might as well just scrap FFP because it’s useless!

Klopp got the team selection horribly wrong tonight but that’s no excuse for the pitiful showing in the first half, it genuinely looked like a bunch of amateurs struggling to string more than one pass together!

If this sounds harsh, I really don’t care anymore, the sooner Keita and Wijnaldum are gone the better, both his behind other players all night, Keita was constantly pointing to other players to show the player in possession where to pass the ball instead of trying to make space for himself to receive it and I can’t for the life of me remember Wijnaldum playing a forward pass or even trying anything to open up Real Madrid!

Surely there needs to be a conversation soon around whether VAR should be kept in this country. The only reason I would have said keep it was the offside decisions are completely accurate but when you’ve got absolute idiots controlling it, you can’t even guarantee that! In my opinion it’s not worth having when they’re getting just as many decisions wrong as they were before.

Literally the only way to describe that refereeing performance is outright corruption! I don’t think the jones challenge was a red card but I don’t mind letting that one slide as it was touch and go but the fact that they didn’t even draw the lines on the Diaz goal absolutely stinks of corruption. These apologies are simply not good enough from the PGMOL, the officiating in this country is at best, completely inept, at worst absolutely corrupt!

Just seen an article regarding FSG looking for more sports teams to purchase. Maybe they should focus on the ones they currently have and fix the absolute sh*tshow happening at the club!

And by that I’m not talking financially. i'm talking about the day to day running of the club and before anyone says they have appointed people to run the day to day, they obviously appointed the wrong people! The amount of staff who have jumped ship the last 12 months speaks volumes!

Klopp said the club have been hurt financially by not qualifying for the champions league. I’m literally sick of hearing this! Arsenal and Manchester United have outspent us massively over the past 5-6 years while we’ve been to 3 UCL finals and qualifying every year and they have been playing Europa league!

I would have rather come out all guns blazing and lost 3 or 4 nil than limp out like we have done tonight! Never looked like causing an upset!

One bright spark in the first half was Darwin Nunez so I simply cannot explain why he was the first dragged off, klopps substitutions have really baffled me this season, it’s like he’s watching different games.

One last thing that really annoyed me tonight was the corners! We had 9 corners and some of the deliveries were absolutely abysmal, every single in was so deep, some even cleaning the box! I don’t know if this was a set piece tactic that’s been worked on through the week but surely after 2 or 3 they are all experienced enough to realise it’s not working!
