u may as well hit the dis agreee button now as i, m always controversial
Brendon has lost it for me regardless of the big buys they are not prforming I would play some youngsters aka Suso etc why not they can't perform any worse at least they will show some courage heart and go in all guns blazing to optimize their chance.
I have said all along Brendon either needs a quality defensive coach along side him. Brendon is too loyal to certain players and can be seen to have his favourites and quite a few of his buys have been awful no impact if it isn't broken why mend it just bring in 1/2 proven quality and bring in the youth from within the ranks as we have over the year spent a lot of kerching on youth. I do beileve if the youth are given the chance just like Owen, Gerrard, and Sterling some will come good just like Everton do.

{Ed044's Note - 'I'm always controversial' is one those things that you shouldn't say about yourself. It's a bit like saying 'I've got a good sense of humour', when really you should let others judge for themselves. Good tip for when you're criticising Brendan: spell his name right. It doesn't lend any more weight to your argument, but it shows that you are paying attention.}

See that's not really controversial.
Most would agree we bought too many players in the summer now, however, in the summer most were asking for new players every day!
"If it ain't broke...." etc. Well that only holds water if the challenges posed to the squad are the same as last season, which, they are not. Also we lost our key player, so it was "broke". Furthermore, most would agree our defence WAS "broke" last season.
As for the defensive coach, again, not much controversy there, pretty much everyone agrees the problem is not just personnel, it's tactical.
Which players would you not have signed then?
Can was meant as a replacement for Lucas who decided not to leave
Lambert was a replacement for Borini who decided not to leave.
Moreno seems a good signing
Manquillo is on loan but seems good
Lovren had a good season last season and we have struggled with centre backs
Origi is on loan still
Balotelli is an indirect replacement for Suarez.

The strange ones for me are Lallana and Markovic.

{Ed044's Note - lallana makes sense for me. He was unlucky with picking up an injury pre season. He was on balance, our best player yesterday, and I think will only get better and prove to be a valuable player. Markovic, I'm not sure anyone gets. Nothing against the player and his undoubted potential, but It wasn't an area we needed strengthening, or 'potential' strengthening...}
