Well, OGS and UTD have clearly been brought down to earth again. Honeymoon is over.

So Pulisic has gone to Chelsea. It was made known way back on this site that he was not going to join LFC.

We have Salah, Mane and Firmino so unless one of them leave then the next big attacking Marquee :-o not going to arrive as there is no need to replace our front three and doubt a mega million player is going to want to sit on the bench.

If this is the way our transfer situation has started before the window has even opened then I have got news for everyone.

Our transfer window has ended before it even started.

Anyone who still believes there is still a chance to to sign VVD need some TLC. Firstly, we are not going to be able to afford VVD now, whether we were able to afford him while tapping him up was also not going to be likely as all we were doing was fending off interest in VVD from Chelsea and City by getting the player on our side and in return have Southampton left with no option but to accept what we were willing to offer.

It turns out that Southampton were not that stupid in the end. Now they can say, how about £90m for VVD. Game over.

2 wins from 2, could not have asked for a better start.

VAR going to upset many an apple cart this season. Pretty sure Liverpool will be involved in VAR decisions too.

Whole new ball game this season.

Pretty strong lineup from Klopp tonight. Looks like Klopp wants to win this one.

First teams aside, do City's backups really rank better than ours? This is based on the starting 11's from the weekend.

City: Bravo, Mendy, Otamendi, Angelino, Cancelo, Foden, Gundogan, B. Silva, Fernandinho, . (Won't include Auguero yet but maybe Pep is opting for Jesus ahead of Aguero this season, let's see)

Liverpool: Adrian, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Ox, Shaq, Lallana, Keita, Origi, Brewster. If we add Van Der Berg, Elliot, Hoever and Larouci (spelling) surely LFC are not in that bad off?

Based on the above, which set backups would everyone prefer? I will stick with our set of backups thanks :-)

Mentioned a while ago about teams around us strengthening.

Spurs have signed one player and are bound to lose at least 2 key players. Replacements will come at a hefty price.

City have signed Fernandinho's replacement and resigned another player they sold which will unlikely make their first team. Will they sign anymore players when Pep cannot even keep his current squad happy when it comes to minutes on the pitch?

Arsenal have signed none.

Chelsea cannot sign anyone.

UTD have made two signings. They will overpay big time if they want to sign their other targets which is a risk when it comes to those players flopping which has been the case for them since Fergie stepped down.

Everton signed one, oh and made the player they loaned from Barcelona permanent.

I really do not see the fuss at the moment that we have not been active when the teams around us have not really strengthened are either going to lose players or need to sell in order to add or overpay bigtime for their targets.

LFC are in a healthy position as Klopp has built a really good squad and we have not lost any of our first team starters.

So I guess we will all just have to be patient and wait and see if Klopp will actually add anymore players. We have a very big squad as it is and with Gomez and Ox coming back into the picture it makes us that much stronger. I am not a fan of Lallana but on his day he can pull some strings. Who knows, Brewster could have changed Klopp's mind when it comes to adding a new forward.

We can sit here and say but 'what if' key players get injured? That is what we say every season ain't it?

I agree, why go out and pay over the odds on a top striker when you have 3 players who would get into most teams in Europe. I think going out and paying top dollar for Van dyke, Allison was necessary at the time because we where weak in those areas.

Looks like Maxwel Cornet may be the target as cover for our front three. He can play on the left, right and down the middle.

Versatility is what Klopp is after. He is still young too, lots of ability especially pace and under Klopp could develop into a really good player.
