Regarding Coutinho'scomments to ESPN Brasilia, I don't give any credence to what footballers say in the modern game anymore after Suarez signed a new contract and was in a Barcelona shirt a few months later. If Couts stays I'll be made up because he really is the main man everything goes through him. On the whole after Couts' positional change we build from the back through Matip who always looks to feed Couts. Clyne offers himself time and time again and Matip never utulises him. If he goes than I trust Klopp to buy a super player that fits the system. After the departures of Suarez and Torres I am not going to idolize any player. These guys are not Liverpool fans like us they are employees of the club whose priority is to secure their economic futures for themselves and their families, which I grudgingly appreciate. I implore you to stop the hero worship of these transitional employees. By the way at this juncture it would be remiss of me not to say that Nathaniel Clyne is one of the worst right backs I've ever seen in a Liverpool. He offers nothing going forward and I could wait 200 years and still won't see any of his crosss hit a Liverpool player. He is positionally woeful and the only redeeming feature is he has some great tattoos. If we get our money back on him I'd be astounded. I will say it again we need a new back 4. It pains for me to say it but I totally concur with Eds 001 in saying that Matip is suspect and really not as good as most Liverpool fans think he is. My girlfriend is more vocal when we make love and i'm a crappy lover. He loses concentration repeatedly but to be fair playing alongside Lovren can't help your game. I know it's impractical to change the back four but that's exactly what this team needs. We gave a pathetic and forlorn Boro team three golden chances to score which is lamentable. My glass is half full though because I think now is the beginning of something beautiful at Liverpool FC. Which will culminate in Stevie G taking over the mantle within 3- 5 years. Klopp will make us a super power once again like we were under Rafa!

Oh Danny Boy. going to miss you next season my friend. It's going to be a case of you don't know what you got till its gone! That swag, that smile, that mesmeric movement, that instinctive poachers finishing, that acknowledgent to a higher authority when you score. And oh my oh my that dance when you score from improbable angles and dig us out of holes. On a personal level I hope you rediscover your predatory striker instincts and have a barnstorming finish to the season and give klopp a beautiful problem. You may not be the Daniel Sturbridge of old but you are one damn fine footballer still, so go and prove those naysayers wrong. I'm still a believer!

Just as I was getting used to the idea of Emre Can not realizing his potential at Liverpool he's pulling out some stellar performances of late. Is this turnaround due to Klopps coaching or Can pulling his finger out? Obviously Migs, Bobby and Couts played a humungous part in our renaissance second half but Can was the catalyst and was doing the work of two men (Gino's and his own) . I have to say I was his biggest fan when he signed and then became his most ardent critic as I felt he wasn't robust enough for our system but he's proving me wrong and long may it continue. Also props and kudos to Danny boy because I though that his movement was superb today and let's hope he kicks on from here. I don't think he'll be with us next season but while he's still around let's give him our love as he's never moaned and always acted with dignity and class.
How we won that game is a mystery to me especially as we had the referee with a stoke kit on and for that matter Klavan, Lovren and Clyne also playing for the opposition. We really need a new defense! Two confident central defenders a right back who can cross and a left back who isn't an auxiliary left back. It sounds drastic and impractical but IF we get into the Champions League next season teams will have a field day with our defence and expose us repeatedly. I would keep Matip and ship the rest. In my opinion City will get third and we're fighting for 4th place with Arsenal and the Mancs which will go to the wire. Personally I think we'll finish fifth because I think we don't have the capacity to compensate for our heinous injury list but I hope I'm wrong and besides Arsenal always finish with a flourish.
