Not specifically Liverpool related but a discussion we were having in the pub earlier regarding contracts. Do you think it would make it more interesting if a player has to play the length of their contract. They can't be offered an extension by their current club, no one can bid for them but in the last month of their contracts they can listen to offers from both their current team and other teams. It was such an interesting debate that I thought I would bring it on here. It would certainly be entertaining in their last month and no drama throughout the contract so I'm for it in that sense, but players don't settle straight away, whether it be location, don't gel with the other players so I'm against it for that, but the more I think about it, the more I'm conflicted about the idea, just wanted to know what others think.

Just saw a behind the scenes kit unveiling video from Ox, got to say he has grown on me so much, both on and off the field, seems such a nice and fun lad, gets on with everyone well, I will happily admit that I was wrong as didn't think we should have signed him but turning into one of my favourite characters in the squad.

My view on tonight and going forward, for anyone that is interested. With mane and robbo injured, that's two key players, if we could've replaced them in the starting line up and still coped well, that says our strength in depth is better than previous seasons. When I saw all of the other changes, I did panic a little. Realistically, we didn't start well but by the time the first tactical substitute had been made, we had equalised. I was very happy to see klopp still make the same substitutes even though we had equalised, I was worried he may tell one of them to sit back down. The thing is, so many times we have thought, when city or others in previous seasons have not had it their own way, we have been envious of the quality they've brought off the bench, we were 1-1 and brought two quality, some would argue world class players off the bench and finished the game off. And they got some rest in as well. I don't agree with so many changes but it worked, we got three points and that is what we'll be judged on going forward.

Second point, everyone has argued city won't drop many points but if teams go at them, they are vulnerable. This is true but the wrong time of the season to do it. Teams set up against city for damage limitation at the moment. That's why they run riot. Getting into the last quarter of the season, with the bottom of the table likely to be close between six or seven teams, that is when teams have to throw caution to the wind and just go for it. That is where I believe city will drop points. If we can still be there or thereabouts at this time, we will stand a very good chance. Bearing in mind, even if we'd started our full strength team today, Burnley still would've had a go. If this was city tonight, you would've seen a different Burnley. They hold the rear factor and rightly so, the way they play. I'm not interested at the moment in waiting for city to drop points as I don't think it'll happen yet so all I focus on is Liverpool getting three. In the last 8-9 games of the season, when staying up is a must for some of the bottom teams, added to a possible champions League run that city may concentrate on more, I can see them dropping some, not many, but maybe enough for us to get what we've been waiting for, for so many years.

Either way, we've started brilliantly, we haven't hit maximum potential as yet and we've at got players who are only now beginning to find their game at Liverpool. Oh, and if I didn't mention it, we're in second place and two points behind one of the best teams in the world. A lot to be positive about right now and I will continue to be optimistic and enjoy what we're achieving at the moment as I strongly believe, there's a lot more to come from us.

Have a good evening everyone, another three points bagged and here's to many more.

I'll post this before kick off and hopefully it won't bite me in the butt, but I hope Sterling doesn't get abuse today. I hated the lad for the way he left like everyone else but the media witch hunt on him the last couple of years has been disgusting and kind of feel for him in that sense. Not saying we should cheer him all the way but just treat him like any other player. It's done with now.

I know a lot of people are talking about the amount of money spent on a keeper and also what we spent on VVD in January and if you ask me the transfer fees as a whole are absolutely ridiculous at the moment, however, if someone paid the same amount for a striker or goal scoring winger, no one would be questioning these amounts. The thing is, we don't need a striker or a goal scoring winger so if we're using the same amount or less on other positions because we built possibly the best front three in football in this day and age for less than some people have paid on one striker, I don't see what the big deal is. We've strengthened where we needed to so hopefully we reap the benefits, that's what transfers are about.

Morning eds and reds. Like most on here have such a mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety at present. Whatever the result I'm confident of the lads going out and giving their all.

My one fear is if we are leading by say two goals with ten minutes to go, what changes will be made. I think if we disrupt the front three too much and heaven forbid we concede two, I don't fancy we would have the creativity in extra time to go and get the winner. The way I see it is we have had a two week break, energy banks are full so I'm hoping our front three can play the full ninety just in case. We only seem to concede multiple goals when we start taking them off and this is because the opposition know they can be more adventurous without as much risk of being hit on the break. They're our first line of defence and it shows.

Having said that, Klopp and his tactics and these players have got us to the final so I have to have faith in any decisions they make.

Not long to go now reds, let's hope we do conquer all of Europe.

YNWA.

Hi all, hope everyone is well and looking forward to next weekend. Just wanted to garner some options or facts if possible.

Every year I buy a Liverpool shirt and also every few years I buy a Wales rugby shirt, whenever a new one comes out. Why is it that I wash them exactly the same but the quality on the rugby shirts, or sponsor print, badge etc lasts perfectly on the rugby shirt, but on my Liverpool shirts, especially under warrior and new balance, there's always something coming off, whether it be a letter, a leg of the liver bird, anything.

Do manufacturers do this on purpose to make people buy shirts more frequently whereas national team rugby shirts have to last as they're released every 3-4 years?

I have to say a lot of the Adidas ones have lasted reasonably well, Reebok same. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had similar problems with the warrior on new balance shirts please?

Completely agree, Mayweather knew what he had to do and done it to perfection. And i agree with your comparison as well. That day only one team wanted to play football and this morning only one man wanted to fight

{Ed042's Note - With all the wait and the hype surrounding the fight it really was dissapointing. Not that it was bad but just think had mayweather actually attacked then it could have been a classic
