Shame about the final minutes for England, but I'd just like to say that I thought Jordan Henderson was fantastic tonight. Didn't put a foot wrong all match!

Hey all,

Just an update on Danny Ward's performance last night for Huddersfield Town at home to Rotherham.

I was at the game and Town returned to the top of the Championship for at least a 24 hours with a 2-1 win.

Ward may not have kept a clean sheet but he could do little if anything about Rotherham's, he was left helpless as the unmarked forward prodded the ball home.

He had little to do all game but, towards the end when Town were under more pressure, Ward did well in claiming crosses from corners and set plays - he looked well in command of his box.

His distribution was largely short passes to his defenders, such is Huddersfield's style, and it was largely faultless apart from one poor decision when he passed out to Dean Whitehead while he was clearly marked. Town were a tad fortunate to get away with that as they just about scrambled the ball away under severe pressure which Ward put them under.

He literally didn't have a shot of note to save, most of Rotherham's efforts were wide and wasteful. So a quiet but efficient night for Ward, but he communicated well and looked confident well above his years when he was called upon to claim crosses and passes back to him.

Next update will be after October 16th, Town's next home game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Thanks all!

Hey Eds and Reds,

Just a message of apology here that there is no Danny Ward update this week as I was not at their game this weekend.

I can tell you that I will be at the next home game against Rotherham on Sept 27th and then also on October 16th against Sheff Weds so there will be updates on his performances then!

Sorry all!

Chilwell signs a new deal with Leicester City!

We've messed about again over a priority signing and paid the price!

Fingers crossed we sign Amavi or another left back! Me having watched Chilwell in person has been a waste haha!

Just want to say a little bit on Daniel Agger's retirement from his playing career!

He truly is a gentleman of the game. Long-term users of this site will be aware of the offers he rejected from the likes of Barcelona because of his love for Liverpool and I for one would be the first to proclaim my admiration for him!

He had a truly wonderful time at our club, and although his only major trophy was the League Cup (and the Community Shield), he will long be remembered by many a supporter. He deserved the Premier League title, having finished 2nd with us twice in 2009 and 2014. He came so close and deserved more!

He was an exceptional player when he wasn't injured. His knowledge and understanding of what was required of him at centre back was phenomenal, and of course he had a hammer of a left foot!

31 is no retirement age, even in football, but even so, I hold the greatest respect for one of my favourite players to ever grace the Anfield pitch!

Thanks Dagger!

YNWA.
