two of the most important games of our season and we have been absolutely shocking both games. Our record against the top teams this season has been pathetic its no wonder we're out of the top 4

Was just wondering eds at the end of the season when gerrard leaves do you think the club will look to bring someone in to replace him or look to our current crop of players for someone to take gerrards role? Was just asking because if we do look for a player to bring in we could do a lot worse that cabaye.

{Ed044's Note - ouch. The Eds have differing views on this. As 02 points out, we already have a lot of midfielders, and 01 will probably push for promotion from the academy! In all seriousness, the biggest compliment I can give Stevie is that he's. Irreplaceable. That's not to say we can't manage without him though. We have better DMs, we have younger and trickier attacking midfielders, and we have more able box to box midfielders. I could also argue that we have more vocal leaders on the pitch. But as a complete player I have to say that SG is up there with the best. Not only at our club, but in this country. Will we 'replace' him? No. Will we try? Of course, but not in a like for like kind of way. Next move is BRs...

1.) In purely the sense of replacing a footballer, not a legend, the team just has to move on. Much like the loss of Suarez, the rest of the players will need to become their own team. Their own identity. SG has been Liverpool for so long, the club will look for that next talisman. Who that turns out to be, if anyone, remains to be seen

Hi eds I was just wondering if we fail 2 sign lovren who are our other cb targets I've tried the search function but couldn't find anything cheers

{Special Guest ben - if the club feel that a certain position needs strengthening, then they will look at a number of potential options. A bid has been made for Lovren, hence we know the club are looking for a new CB. If the Lovren pursuit is unsuccessful, they may look elsewhere. Lovren is not dead in the water by any means, so we will have to wait and see if there are other options.}

Gutted we're not going to get Alexis Sanchez he would have been a great player for us in my opinion what's frustrating is we have finally made it back into the champions league and it looks like we can't compete with the big guns in Europe and our league it's going to be difficult to keep in the top 4 next season really hope BR gets the signings right because a lot of the players we have bought or been linked with haven't played at the highest level.
