Hey all,

A bit Away from Liverpool this topic but just wondering what would all your England squads be for the World Cup? Was just messing around trying to pick mine there and I just settled on

Gk - hart, Pickford, pope, butland

Def - walker, Trent, rose, Bertrand, dier, Maguire, Stones, keane

Mid - oxlade, Sterling, lingard, Henderson, Wiltshire, shelyvey, dele, Delph

For - Kane, vardy, Rashford

Few players might feel hard done by being left out of that but I think it's the most balance with players who can cover a number of positions. Not saying this is the best squad ever or that this could win it, purely just asking out of interest and a bit of fun! Also only 3 Liverpool players in that including TAA and I personally don't think southgate will pick him!

May get hammered for this but what do people think about this for Liverpool's game the weekend baring in mind I think now would be a good time to rest some people to not risk injury or fatigue and that top 4 is almost secured.
Go for a 4 4 2.
Karius
Clyne Gomez Klavan Moreno
Salah Milner wijinaldum Woodburn
Solanke Ings

If these players aren't good enough to beat stoke or put in a good shift then they really shouldn't be playing for Liverpool so I say give them a run out and make sure the rest of the lads are fresh for Roma and the remaining games including Chelsea!

Going off a post I read from other user, I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on their team of the year this season? I had a think about it this morning and it's difficult in a few positions to choose but I'll post my team below and would love to hear the others posters teams too! This is purely opinion stuff!

De Gea
Walker. Tarkovski. Sánchez. Robertson.
De Bruyne. Kanté. Erikson
Salah Aguero Sane
.
It was tough to choose a few positions there and I think special mentions should go to the likes of ;
Ederson in goal (for how he has come straight in and cleaned up the mess Bravo left and adapted so well to city's style) .
Also to TAA at right back particularly towards the end of the season!
Ben Mee too for his partnership with Tarkovski and the position they have gotten Burnley into!
David Silva as i absolutely have loved him for years and think he finally got some recognition this year! Was hard to leave him out but wanted erikson in there!
And sterling and Kane up top for hitting the amount of goals Kane has and for sterlings overall improvement and turning into a player I didn't think he actually could when he was still with us!

What do you all think, who would u change in that team?

Did anyone see the interview with Carragher on sky news? I know what he done was bad but that interviewer was a joke, she didn't conduct the interview objectively at all, it was totally subjective as she was judging him throughout the whole thing, speaking down to him, and nearly forcing him into a shell and forcing him to agree with her answers and make himself sound like such a small man.

Like him or not everyone makes mistakes, admittedly he's made a pretty bad one but I think she was so unprofessional in the way she conducted herself during the interview!

On Carragher I really can't understand why he did it when all the guy said was 2-1 mate, he didn't insult him or start name calling and I'm sure Carragher has gotten worse abuse than that throughout his career!

Could be a tough road back for him now though, he didn't seem like he could be himself in the interview, was nearly like a scripted apology that sky sports gave him and going forward I don't know if he'll be able to be himself when punditing on games and be his harsh, but fair critical self. what happens the next time a player spits at someone on the pitch and Carragher has to be asked about it in studio after the game? Shame as him and neville are obviously the only two pundits who speak an ounce of sense in all of football imo.
