Liverpool FC aren't even close to being title contenders. We weren't last year and nothing much has changed since then other than the competition has got a lot tougher.

Klavan starting fills me with dread. Against Hertha he looked awful. Was a mistake almost every time he got near the ball.

Ox was a bad idea all day long, he's not a centre midfielder and he's a very mediocre winger. I don't see a comparison with Keita at all.

I'd be very dissatisfied if we sold Coutinho and replaced him with anyone off of the Barcelona cast off list and Oxlade Chamberlain. That would show that we've learnt nothing from the mistakes we've constantly made transfer window after transfer window, because none of Rakatic, Turan, Rafinha, Vazquez or Oxlade are anywhere near the quality of Coutinho and aren't players that would be an improvement on our starting 11.

Rakitic and Turan are both over the hill and not in good enough condition to come to the premier league. Any deal involving them would be a bad deal.

TAA is worth a starting position. Kent has shown he's got a lot to his game.

Henderson - Will likely miss half to a third of the season because of his foot which hasn't heeled fully.

Wijnaldum - Not really a centre midfielder, more of an attacking centre midfielder.
Lallana - Not really a centre midfielder, more of an attacking centre midfielder.
Can - Still possibly off to Juve, still liable to niggly injuries.
Coutinho - Not really a centre midfielder, more of an attacking centre midfielder.
Milner - Definitely not a centre midfielder.
Grujic - Still very raw.
Ejaria - Still very raw.
Chririvella - Out on loan.

So if, like a lot of last season, Can and Henderson are out at the same time, we are in trouble. And yes, we are short in centre midfield, Man United, Spurs, City and Chelsea all have better options and starting options.

Rafinha isn't that good to be honest. He's tidy in possession but nothing more than that, his final ball isn't incisive and his shooting isn't very good. Swapping Coutinho for him would be as bad as when we got that winger from Real Madrid in exchange for Owen.

Rakitic is past it, over the hill, finished. His legs have completely gone and his performances over the last two season have been mediocre at best and it's clear that his career is in decline. The Rakitic that Barcelona signed was at his peak, that peak has ended. We cannot carry passengers.

Rakatic was good three years ago, but his legs have gone completely. He would be a liability of Christian Pousen proportions in the premier league.
