If this is 5th round FA Cup or League Cup, perhaps. Quarter final of an European cup? Hell no!

My greatest year thus far being a Liverpool fan.

Just sharing my views on the game last night. Not exactly a review though.

I personally felt we defended well in the game. The midfield area was -most of the times- entirely ours, kudos to both Lucas and Can. Maybe that caused the Saints not able to attack much, hence I felt the defending was very good. However, there were some occasions that the defenders did really well to clear the ball. I felt Lovren was solid, and I'm particularly impressed with Milner for some of the defending that he did. I felt a bit mixed about Matip. There were lots of times that he put himself in the midfield area which put nerves in me, afraid that the Saints will make some conter-attacks. Once they did, but gladly the cross from Tadic was a bit hard for Long.

I like Wijnaldum a lot. But he went missing during the game. I couldn't say much about his running, not much that I managed to see from the TV.

The part that frustrated me the most was the attacking. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that we tend to try to get long range goals instead of playing in further inside. I noticed this in the past few games. I remembered we used to play to go for the perfect goals, playing inside the penalty box more than the long-range strikes that we have put in these past few games. Is this because of the absence of Mane, so we change the way we attack?

After the first half finished, I was screaming for Lallana and Sturridge. At 60 minutes, my screams were even louder. When they both came in, I saw some more fluidity in our attacking play. Sturridge was such a delight to watch.

In the end, the Saints defended well. Oh I didn't know that Forster is such a big guy until he came close to Milner before the penalty take.

All in all, I am dissappointed with the result, but not entirely dissappointed with the performance.

These are just my opinions and thoughts though.

Wanna ask any of you a question. What was Clyne's position, mainly during the first half?

I thought he was one of the linesmen, just running up and down the field.

I really envied you guys who were priviledged to watch last night game at Anfield. After Origi scored, Klopp was screaming for the crowds to roar, and exactly they did. I watched it on TV, and the commentators said about how loud the noise was. I could even hear them on tv.

After the match, Klopp came into the pitch calling for the players, and asked them to hold hands, but I couldn't see more. It suddenly went to commercials and straight to the pundits.

Wow. It was just one league game, but wow!

{Ed001's Note - you can feel that Klopp is making things grow, even when results are not the best.}
